Canoe Trip

So this past week, i went on the Outdoor Ed canoe trip. we paddled for about 70 kilometers. and i haven't figured what that is in miles yet, but i'll do that at one point. but its a lot of miles and it was a lot of fun. but very tiring. and a lot of hard work. Everyday we would wake up, pack up everything, eat breakfast, canoe ALL day, get to the campsite by the evening, then we'd set up our tarps to make a tent like thing. we had to dig a toilet, and start a fire. then we would cook dinner, and by then it'd be pretty late in the night, after that we would go to bed and wake up do it all again. During they day we took some breaks, and had lunch and such, because it was just hot and tiring we could NEVER make it all the way through no breaks. especially on the days we did 20 or so ks. but overall it was a lot of fun. It was 5 days, and we couldn't shower for those days so that was the longest i've ever gone without a shower! but as soon as i got home i got to shower! :D

so i converted the kilometers to miles and 70ks is 43.49 miles.

  1. This is awesome, your Aut Dee canoed the Great Lakes over s month long trip- when I was a kid- she had pictues of having to portaage over things and also they went through at least one set of locks- anyway- do you have a map of where you went? Who all went with you? Did you see anything interesting while you were out? How many people per canoe? I think Ky's outdoor ed program sounds amazing.

  2. I am so impressed that you made it thru the week. It sounded like it was going to be really tough. The whole youth group prayed for you on Sunday night. It sounds like their prayers were answered.

  3. No i dont have a map, but i probably can get one, or i can just look online. It was 14 of us who went, so it was 3 teachers, and 11 kids. my Outdoor ed class. all i saw were a few wild kangaroos. nothing really. and it was 2 people to a canoe.yes it definitely was a hard week. well physical work wise it was, but it was worth it and a lot of fun!
